France: C’est Vous Qui Décidez Format Announced

French broadcaster France Televisions has now announced the format of their upcoming national selection. A press conference held at the Théâtre Apollo revealed more details on the show, including the jury for the national selection.

The national selection, C’est Vous Qui Décidez, will be held in three parts. In the first part of the selection, seven acts will qualify directly for the final round of the competition with the public vote alone. Then a wildcard will be selected from the five acts that did not qualify in the first round. In the final round, voting will start again, with the winner to be selected by 50% jury vote, and 50% public vote.

The jury consists of:

  • Amir – President of the Jury – Eurovision 2016 representative
  • Marie Myriam – Winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1977
  • Jean-Paul Gaultier – Designer
  • Natasha St Pier – Representative for France at Eurovision 2001
  • Duncan Laurence – Winner of Eurovision 2019
  • Chimène Badi – Participant of Destination Eurovision 2019
  • André Manoukian – Songwriter
  • Elodie Gossuin – Former spokesperson for France
  • Agustin Galiana – Singer
  • Michèle Bernier – Actress and Comedian

The show will be held in a TV Studio in Paris with a circular stage surrounded by lights. The original plan to hold the competition in an arena was scrapped due to COVID-19.
